The morning after sleeping together, Edie and Carlos both make excuses to be on their way, since the sex was shockingly terrible. Travers asks Edie if she has trouble sleeping because he overheard Carlos saying she was bad in bed. Gabrielle still won't sleep with Victor, until she attends a rally where he's speaking. She suddenly finds him much more appealing when she sees the way all the other women there respond to him. She pulls him away for "an important meeting in his limo." She says she knows his positions, now he should get acquainted with hers, as she slips off her bra. She expects him to call that night but when he goes a whole 24 hours without calling, she complains to Susan. Edie shows up just in time to admire Gabrielle's hunky handyman, Toby, who's there to fix her closet. Susan asks how the sex was with Victor and she says, "Fantastic. As good as with Carlos," while Edie merely says, "Hmm. As good as that?" Edie advises Gabby to make Victor jealous. She asks how and just then, as if on cue, Toby walks back in. At Victor's big debate with the mayor, Gabby walks in late with Toby. They sit in the front row and she puts her hand on his knee. Victor's sufficiently rattled that he can barely concentrate on the debate. Satisfied she's gotten her point across, Gabrielle and Toby waltz out, arm in arm. Victor sends her bouquet after bouquet and she still won't call him back, so he finally shows up in person with another one. He says what he did was thoughtless but her humiliating him in public was vicious. He tells her that unlike his political race, their relationship is not about winning, but about being happy. Edie confronts Carlos about calling her bad in bed. She says if anyone was bad, it was him, but admits that sex is like tennis: when you play with a poor opponent, your game suffers. He asks if she's challenging him to a rematch and pulls her into the house. He throws her onto the table, where she lands on a fork, right before the table collapses! They both end up in the ER, needing painkillers and stitches. She tells Carlos now they can to back to being friends. After a trip to the zoo with Travers, Edie and Carlos are reviewing the digital photos and Carlos says someone mistook them for a family. They look at each other tenderly and end up in bed again, but this time the sex is dynamite.

Ian suspects Mike is following him and Susan when they keep running into him. While they're driving, he tells Susan he'll be needed more in the London office and that maybe they should both relocate there. He warns her of a deer in the road and she swerves, into the local lake! Ian can't swim but luckily someone stops to help, and to Ian's dismay, it ends up being Mike, who pulls him to shore.

Ian is still upset about having to be rescued by Mike but Susan insists there's no shame in it and that he shouldn't feel emasculated. He says he doesn't, but when they try to make love, he can't perform.

The next night, she says she will move to London with him. He suggests she sell her house and she says she can't, because "all the people she loves" live on Wisteria Lane. He assumes she means Mike and accuses her of still caring about her ex. She tells him she's sick of hearing him complain about Mike and that she's never given him a reason not to trust her. She threatens if he ever mentions Mike again, she's through.

She then decides it's a good time to bring Mike their thank you gift for fishing them out of the lake. She confesses she's just had a fight with Ian and Mike kisses her. Shaken, she goes back to Ian, who tells her that he does trust her and he was way off base in his suspicions of Mike.

After hernia surgery, Tom is flat on his back at home while Lynette runs the pizzeria. Lynette is interviewing candidates to replace Tom and striking out. But then she meets Rick, who used to be a chef at a four-star restaurant. She asks him why he wants to go slumming and he admits he turned to cocaine to deal with the stress. She's sold but Tom, who's cranky and in pain, vetoes the idea of hiring an ex-junkie.

Mrs. McCluskey shows up at the pizzeria with all of the Scavo children; she's so fed up with Tom's constant demands that she quit. When Lynette gets home, she finds Tom full of apologies, but she's sure Mrs. McCluskey won't accept. And she's far too tired to take him up on his request for her to slip into something sexy.

Lynette is having a terrible night at the pizzeria when Rick stops in to ask if he's got the job. She tells him Tom said no and he insists he can take drug tests every week. Just then, an unhappy customer wants his calzone replaced with a "good" one. A distraught Lynette is close to giving up on the whole restaurant when Rick comes over to ask what the man wants and promises to make him one he will love. Lynette has no choice but to hire him.

Mrs. McCluskey, meanwhile, accepts Tom's apology over the phone, as she tells her late husband, Gilbert, who isn't just with her in spirit: his body is frozen in the basement freezer!
