Cooper and his team are called to Cincinnati where three men were stabbed and found dead in their hotel rooms within the last two weeks. Surveillance video of the hotel confirms that our unsub is a blond female. She seems to be luring her victims with sex and them killing them. The kills are becoming increasingly more violent and sloppy indicating that our unsub may have been abused or rejected by a male figure in her past. With no personal connection to the victims, our unsub's erratic behavior profiles to be like that a male serial killer. When a forth body shows up at an office above a nightclub, Cooper notices that the chairs get closer to the body with every kill, possibly indicating that our unsub may have sat there to watch her victims take his last breath. Garcia pulls up a past case from four years back of a young girl, Jill, being stabbed and her perp wanting to watch her as she bled to death. The girl survived and her perpetrator, Marcus Foldes, was subsequently sent to prison after being convicted of two prior murders. Cooper interrogates Marcus and determines that he's somehow behind the kills and may be killing by proxy. Gina and Beth scour the hundreds of female fan letters claiming their commitment to Marcus. They also track visitor logs of the women who came to see him in person. Cooper threatens to cut off all his visitors and correspondence if he doesn't talk which prompts Marcus to request his lawyer. Meanwhile our team follows a lead of a woman, Maya, who wrote to Marcus everyday but stopped for the last two weeks, same time as the murders. They discover that she tried to commit suicide a few weeks ago but was unsuccessful. She was in love with Marcus and he manipulated her to transform her life and still it wasn't enough. Our team realizes that Maya was at work the night of the murders. In the end our unsub turns out to be Marcus's lawyer, Rachel. He brought her in for the team to see and secretly instructed her to kill her next victim. Cooper and the team must figure out who it is before Rachel gets to that person. We realize that Rachel's was instructed to kill Jill our team must race to get to her house before Rachel does. In the end Mick shots and kills Rachel as she's about to plunge a knife into Jill's chest.
