Our team arrives in Dallas to track down what looks to be a serial killer who is randomly killing people in crowded areas and leaving the gun at the scene. Video surveillance from the most recent incident at shopping mall reveal our killer to be Dale Dixon. When we track him down we are shocked to learn that he killed only because he had to. His son was abducted and he received an anonymous phone message forcing him to kill a stranger at the mall within 30 minutes or his son was going to be killed. A package with the gun was delivered to his house and in order to prove the kill he had to take a photo of his victim and send it via text to a non-traceable number. A phone call comes in about a recent abduction of a pregnant woman and our team races to track down where her husband may have gone. We find ourselves at a local farmer's market where a nervous man scans the crowd. Cooper is able to track him down but isn't able to stop him and he ends up shooting himself. We soon realize that our unsub, based on the weapon of choice, most likely works in law enforcement. We narrow our search and determine that our unsub is Richard Stahl, an executioner who was recently fired. Stahl's former boss Timothy Rawlins, gives us the name of the guy that Stahl may have bought weapons from. Beth and Mick go undercover to try and track down Stahl, via his gun dealer, and in doing so Mick gets shot and Beth gets abducted. A gun is sent to Cooper with the message that he needs to kill someone at the local street fair in 30 minutes otherwise Beth will be killed. The team races to the local street fair only to have Cooper come face-to-face with Stahl. Stahl wants Cooper to shoot him. Who has Beth? We cut to Rawlins holding a gun to Beth's head with time running out.
