Rebecca asking Simon to take advantage of her. Of all times to be a gentleman, Simon decides that he will not honor her request while she's intoxicated. Then he changes his mind. Surprise, surprise!

Rebecca is on the bed half-naked within minutes. Unfortunately, they are quickly interrupted. Simon must jump on the next flight to London after learning his brother has attempted suicide. He makes sure to give a sweet goodbye kiss to his vodka bottle, but forgets to do the same to Rebecca.

Next, we're watching Will's life unfold. He's on the phone talking to his wife about adopting the little boy. Unfortunately, she doesn't think the time is right. Before he can get too upset, Will learns that the boy's uncle is coming back. Simon gave the guy a job on his farm. First of all, Simon did something selfless? Shocker! Secondly, it officially looks like Will won't be adopting his little buddy after all.An unexpected visitor from the CIA informs the Colonel that a very important Afghan National needs a doctor. No one can know he's working for the U.S. There can be no record that this guy was ever in the hospital's care. When going over the patient's scans, the Colonel realizes that he's been there before. The guy was a Taliban member they treated earlier in the season but disappeared before recovery. Needless to say, the Colonel is not happy.

Rebecca and Grace are off-site doing routine check-ups when a gunman bursts into the room. Grace is hit in the shoulder. The gunman is still on a rampage until Suzy pulls a fast one and jumps into harm's way. She dies a hero. The place is in chaos until Rebecca whips out a gun and fires at the shooter from behind. Even though she's hoping for a clean shot at his spine, she misses by an inch. Yes, Rebecca shot the gunman. Now she must save him.

Word of the shooting gets back to the hospital. Bobby goes straight to the Colonel to tell him he won't save Suzy's attacker. The Colonel doesn't really give him much of a choice. Even Simon must return to the hospital to help save a killer. Looks like London is being put on hold. Too bad Simon's drunk and completely useless in the operating room.

When the Colonel finds out that Simon's smashed during surgery, he warns that he needs to be able to rely on his neurosurgeon. Marks sends him off to London but we're not sure if he's coming back. Rebecca gives Simon motivation to return when she kisses him goodbye at the airport.

The season ends with a funeral for Suzy. For a moment, there's calm surrounding the hospital as they all pay their respects. Then a flurry of beepers sound. Even when there's a death, life in a war zone never stops at Combat Hospital.
