Chuck Episode 2.08 Chuck vs the Gravitron

Jill and Chuck have escaped the watchful eyes of Casey and Sarah for a romantic getaway. Chuck is completely unaware that Jill is actually a FULCRUM double agent. But as Jill showers, Chuck picks up her buzzing phone and flashes on a text message. He realizes he's in great danger and escapes the hotel room under the guise of going for coffee. Running down the sidewalk, he's found by Casey and Sarah, who confirm the worst. They let him know that he needs to return to her and try to learn more about her FULCRUM boss, Leader.

Back home, Chuck startles a very anxious Ellie who's furiously cleaning house and practicing cooking for a Thanksgiving visit from "the Awesomes" -- i.e. her fiance's parents. Morgan arrives to talk to Chuck about his girlfriend situation. Chuck explains there's no problem. Morgan is interrupted by an apologetic Ellie who explains that because of her future in-laws coming, he can't come to this year's Thanksgiving dinner. He heartbroken; T-day with the Bartowskis in a longstanding tradition.

At Buy More, Big Mike explains that because they don't have plans, Morgan, Jeff, and Lester are being assigned to spend Thanksgiving night at the store guarding all the extra inventory that's awaiting Black Friday, the next day's big sales.

Jill calls Chuck and asks for a romantic date "without your bodyguards." Chuck reluctantly agrees and then pleads with Sarah for protection. She instructs him that he must be strong when Jill expects him to be the most weak -- a romantic moment likely. She instructs Chuck on how to kiss without becoming emotionally vulnerable.

Jill takes Chuck to a carnival on their date. Reprising a ploy Chuck used on Jill when they were dating in college, Jill has the Ferris Wheel operator stop them at the very top. Chuck is terrified. As they kiss, Jill puts a gun to Chuck's mid-section. He tries to talk her out of it: "You already broke my heart. Is it necessary for you to shoot it as well?" She explains her orders are to quickly get him to a car where FULCRUM agents await.

As Jill and Chuck cross the carnival, Leader appears and orders Jill to kill Chuck. She refuses and points the gun at Leader. Chuck bolts and Leader punches Jill to the ground and runs after Chuck. Chucks takes refuge inside the Gravitron, but the Leader catches him there. Chuck turns the ride on and as it spins crazily, Chuck tries to escape Leader's evil clutches. The ride stops abruptly and Chuck runs free.

In a house of mirrors, Jill finds Chuck and explains that she was recruited at Stanford and given anything she wanted. Leader appears from nowhere, but is cut down by Jill. Outside, Casey apprehends Jill, despite Chuck's protests: "She saved my life!"

At Buy More, Big Mike reviews the protection plan for the store: locking Lester, Morgan, and Jeff inside for the night.

Sarah interrogates Jill at their Castle location, using a lie detector. She admits to being a FULCRUM agent and discloses that Leader is in a mobile medical unit. Sarah and Casey head downtown in pursuit.

After realizing how sad their situation is, Morgan tells Lester and Jeff that he plans to escape the Buy More and retrieve a turkey from the outside world for them. He dumpster dives at Chuck and Ellie's apartment building, for her "practice turkey." He's discovered by Awesome and Ellie who have happily just learned that Awesome's parents aren't coming for dinner after all. They invite Morgan, Jeff, and Lester to come to Thanksgiving dinner. At Buy More, Jeff trips the security system, prompting Big Mike to rush back to the store to thwart what he assumes is a robbery.

Alone with Jill at Castle, Chuck takes advantage of the situation to ask Jill some personal questions while she's hooked up to the lie detector. Chuck asks her if she ever slept with Bryce Larkin and she says no. The lie detector confirms it.

Casey and Sarah infiltrate the mobile medical unit. Leader is being operated on, but his medical team is well-armed. The agents storm the unit anyway, overpowering the medical team and taking Leader into custody.

He asks her why she let him believe that she had been with Bryce for all these years. She says that her FULCRUM adviser forced her to. Chuck wants to know if "when it's all over, we can try again." She says yes and after Chuck lets her out of her restraints, they kiss. As the lie detector indicates a delayed "negative," Chuck realizes that Jill has gotten the drop on him.

As Casey and Sarah return with their prisoner, Jill surprises them, forcing them to put down their weapons and unlock Leader's handcuffs. After locking Casey and Sarah up, the FULCRUM spies force Chuck at gunpoint to show them the Joint Intelligence Database. They lock up Chuck and then begin studying the treasure trove of Castle's classified data. They want Chuck to lead them to the intersect.

Using the Castle operations manual, Chuck figures out how to disable the computer system and lock out Leader from the files. He's also called the CIA's trouble line and disabled the holding cell door controls so that he, Casey, and Sarah are all safe behind the bulletproof glass. Leader responds by putting a timed explosive charge on the holding cell wall, explaining that it'll blow through the bulletproof glass. Afraid that his friends will die, Chuck unlocks his holding cell door and leaves with Leader and Jill. He sends a message to Casey and Sarah that he has also unlocked their door and that they should follow him to Buy More.

Inside Buy More, Leader and Jill lead Chuck at gunpoint. As Casey and Sarah arrive, a wild chase starts. When Jill has a clear shot at Sarah, Chuck interrupts her and she holds her fire. Meanwhile Casey and Leader are fighting it out man to man until Leader grabs a pistol.

As Leader trains his weapon on Casey, a very enraged Big Mike arrives and body checks Leader across three aisles. Casey takes him into custody, with Big Mike none the wiser that Casey is NSA. Chuck secrets Jill out of the store and gives her a Nerd Herd car to make her getaway. Jill begs Chuck to come with her, explaining they can be together at last. Chuck turns on her, locking the car with its remote and disabling the engine. "You're under arrest Jill. And, I'm breaking up with you."

Back at home, Chuck tells Sarah that he's sorry for botching the mission and allowing himself to be so manipulated. Sarah reassures Chuck that he should try to remain honest and sweet and leave the deception to her. Inside, Lester, Jeff, Morgan, Awesome, Chuck and Sarah. They head inside for a giant family Thanksgiving dinner, much to the delight of all.
