Celebrity

Charlie Sheen raised more than $20,000 (GBP12,500) towards baseball fan Bryan Stow's medical bills during a one-man show in San Francisco, California on Saturday night.

AceShowbiz - The San Francisco Giants fan was beaten into a coma by thugs outside a baseball game at the end of March and Charlie Sheen pledged to raise cash for Stow and his family during his "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Death Is Not an Option" tour stop in San Francisco.

The actor raised $9,000 (GBP5,625) from merchandise sales and a further $4,000 (GBP2,500) from a pre-show collection. Sheen then agreed to add the extra cash to get the total to $20,000, according to HollyScoop.com.

Sheen's business manager Brian Klarberg says, "As a sports fan, Charlie was saddened by the Dodger Stadium assault of Bryan Stow. Charlie is matching those fan contributions as well and topping off the contribution to the Bryan Stow Foundation to $20,000. A cheque will be given to the Foundation later this week."
