AceShowbiz - "Brothers & Sisters" actor Balthazar Getty has lost his father, oil heir John Paul Getty III. The 54 year old, the grandson of oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty, died on Sunday, February 6 in Buckinghamshire, England after a long illness.
Getty had been in poor health since 1981 when a drug overdose caused a stroke, which left him paralyzed and nearly blind. The overdose came just eight years after he was kidnapped in Rome, Italy and held for a $17 million ransom. His captors, who cut off part of his ear, were never found but Getty was discovered alive in southern Italy in 1973.
The troubled heir welcomed Balthazar with his wife Gisela two years later.
