AceShowbiz - Macy Gray has turned her back on her drug-taking past - because her wild ways started to take their toll on her looks. The "I Try" hitmaker once named a marijuana joint as one of the three things she would take into space with her, but admits she has curbed her partying now she is in her forties.

She says, "It's vanity, really. At a certain age drugs make you look really bad. When you're 20 you can party all night and look good; you wake up, throw on some sunglasses, you look great. Once you get into your thirties it takes a long time to shake it off. I was like, 'I can't do this any more, it's starting to show!'"

Macy Gray is going to release a new album titled "The Sellout" across the United States on June 22. "This album is the diary of my life the past couple years. I've grown up and overcome things, and I think that can be inspiring to everybody," she said of the effort.
