AceShowbiz - Hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz is heading back to court to battle his ex-wife Mashonda over missing alimony and child support payments. Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, split from the R&B singer in April 2008 after four years of marriage, and she filed for divorce in February 2009.
Their split hit the headlines again when Beatz confirmed last May that he is dating Alicia Keys, fueling rumors he embarked on an affair with the Grammy winner while still in a relationship with Mashonda. The former couple's divorce was finalized earlier this month, but in new papers filed in New York's Manhattan Supreme Court, Mashonda claims her ex already owes her $334,000 in late alimony and child support payments for their three-year-old son, Kasseem Jr.
Mashonda's lawyer, Bernard Clair, called the non-payment "particularly troubling" after reports emerged suggesting Beatz had purchased a seven-carat engagement ring for Keys earlier this year and that the new couple is moving into a $14.5 million New York City penthouse ahead of their rumored summer nuptials.
But Beatz has dismissed the claims, branding them "inaccurate" and "overblown", reports the New York Post. Beatz and Mashonda are due back in court next month.
