AceShowbiz - Anthony Ippolito steps into the role of Sylvester Stallone in the first official poster for I Play Rocky, the upcoming biopic from Academy Award-winning director Peter Farrelly. Amazon MGM Studios released the artwork as the film heads toward its theatrical debut.

The film is described as an electrifying true story about an unknown actor with an unshakable belief that he was not just meant to write Rocky — he was meant to be Rocky Balboa. Told "no" at every turn, Stallone bets everything on himself, holding the line on playing the lead against seemingly impossible odds. The result is billed as the ultimate underdog story behind the ultimate underdog movie.

Farrelly, who won an Academy Award for Green Book, directs from a screenplay written by Peter Gamble. The producing team includes Toby Emmerich, p.g.a., Christian Baha, p.g.a., Farrelly, p.g.a., Paul Currie and Michele Weiss.

The cast features Ippolito alongside AnnaSophia Robb, Toby Kebbell, P.J. Byrne, Jay Duplass and Kiki Seto, with Matt Dillon, Stephan James and Tracy Letts.

I Play Rocky opens in select theaters on November 6, followed by a release in theaters everywhere in November. Amazon MGM Studios presents the film.

The poster release offers a first look at Ippolito's transformation into Stallone, the actor and filmmaker whose persistence in starring in his own screenplay for Rocky became one of Hollywood's defining stories of self-belief.
