The film is a collaboration between South Park veteran Vernon Chatman, who wrote the script, and Trey Parker, who will direct. It is produced by Matt Stone, Kendrick Lamar, and Dave Free. Lamar and Free have been closely involved in the project’s development, reportedly working on it daily.

While details remain scarce, Whitney Springs is said to follow the story of a young Black man who interns as a slave reenactor at a historical museum. The film is also expected to feature original music from Kendrick Lamar that has never been released before, adding to the project’s anticipation.
