The show is an adaptation of Cullen Bunn’s graphic novel, focusing on a New Orleans family whose criminal empire is built around a drug made from the ashes of the dead. This drug causes users to experience vivid visions of the past, intertwining crime, family legacy, and supernatural forces.

Variety also revealed that 50 Cent will serve as an executive producer on the series through his G-Unit Film & Television company. The project is co-showrun by Diane Ademu-John and Declan de Barra, who bring experience from acclaimed projects such as Dune: Prophecy and The Witcher: Blood Origin. Executives Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer from BOOM! Studios, the graphic novel’s publisher, are also attached as executive producers, helping to guide the adaptation.
