Reflecting on his return to R&B, Ty Dolla $ign shared, "I've just been wanting to do it for a while. Also, R&B is back. It's like it's here. It's time. So luckily, I do have that skill, and I'm ready." His enthusiasm for the genre is clear, and he feels the timing is perfect for this musical focus.

Alongside his own projects, Ty is also nurturing talent through EZMNY Records. He’s collaborating with artists like Bizzy Crook, helping them transition from behind-the-scenes creators to Grammy-nominated performers. Ty acknowledges the shared journey, noting, "Same journey I went on and the same journey Leon went on." Among his favorite collaborators is James Fauntleroy, an exceptional writer and producer, who Ty eagerly anticipates will soon release a new album.

When asked about the inspiration behind Girl Music Vol. 1, Ty explained it stemmed from a night out in New York at a spot called Lélé. The DJ was playing what Ty described as "girl music"—songs that energize and move a room full of women. He contrasted this with typical club music, often hyped but not tailored to female audiences. This experience inspired him to create a complete project dedicated to music that resonates with women. Ty has already begun work on a second volume, describing this collection as some of his favorite music since his acclaimed Free TC album.

Ty’s connection to R&B runs deep. He recalled his early days as a child prodigy when, at nine years old, his father secured him a spot playing keys for Immature. This opportunity led to notable performances, including an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show, where background singers included Brandy and Ray J, forming a powerful young ensemble.
