Taylor Swift files new trademarks to protect her voice and likeness from unauthorized AI deepfakes and remixes.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift is taking proactive steps to safeguard her identity from artificial intelligence reproductions by filing new trademark applications.
Instead of announcing new music, Taylor Swift's legal team recently submitted three trademark filings aimed at protecting her voice and likeness from unauthorized AI-generated content. These filings include two voice recordings where Swift says, “Hey, it’s Taylor Swift” and “Hey, it’s Taylor.” Additionally, her team filed an image showing her wearing the iconic Lover bodysuit while playing guitar during the Eras Tour.
If these trademarks are approved, it would prevent the creation and distribution of AI remixes or deepfake content that use these specific audio clips or images without permission, effectively curbing unauthorized AI recreations like the rumored “Travy big game” AI remix.
This legal move follows a precedent set just three months ago when actor Matthew McConaughey’s attorneys won trademarks covering his voice recordings of famous movie lines, including “All right, all right, all right.” Jonathan Pollack, McConaughey’s attorney, commented on the victory, saying, “In a world where we’re watching everybody scramble to figure out what to do about AI misuse, we have a tool now to stop someone in their tracks or take them to federal court.”
Taylor Swift's trademark filings highlight the growing concern among public figures about AI technologies replicating their voices and images without consent. By securing these trademarks, Swift aims to maintain control over her personal brand and prevent unauthorized AI-generated content from spreading.
