AceShowbiz - Beau Starr, known for his roles in the Halloween franchise and the film Goodfellas, has passed away at the age of 81. His brother, Mike Starr, confirmed to TMZ that Beau Starr died on April 24 in Vancouver due to natural causes.
Before embarking on his acting career, Beau Starr was a professional football player. He played for teams including the New York Jets, the Montreal Alouettes, and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. His transition to acting began with a stage performance at the American Theater of Actors in 1980. His first television credit came a year earlier, in 1979, with an appearance on the show Bizarre.
Beau Starr then expanded his career across both television and film. His early TV appearances included a 1983 episode of Three's Company, and roles in popular series such as The A-Team (1983-85) and The Fall Guy (1983-86). He also acted in the comedy film The Lonely Guy, starring Steve Martin, as well as the 1985 movie Fletch. In 1988, he guest-starred on Highway to Heaven.
In 1988, Beau Starr joined the Halloween film series, playing Sheriff Ben Meeker in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. He reprised this role in the sequel, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Two years later, he appeared in the acclaimed film Goodfellas, portraying the father of Ray Liotta’s character, Henry Hill.
Christopher Serrone, who portrayed a younger Henry Hill in Goodfellas, shared a tribute on Instagram following Beau Starr’s death. Serrone wrote, "It is with a heavy heart I'm here to inform everyone of the very sad passing of Beau Starr. [Mike Starr] asked me to make the announcement." He added that Beau Starr led a rich and meaningful life as a son, brother, father, grandfather, actor, and former NFL/CFL player, urging fans to remember him fondly.
Throughout his career, Beau Starr appeared in numerous other projects. Notably, he starred in the NBC crime drama series True Blue during its 12-episode run. His extensive television credits also include roles on 2000 Malibu Road, Bad Blood, Speed, NYPD Blue, Leap Years, Doc, Final Days on Planet Earth, and Psych.
