AceShowbiz - The Hilltop Hoods have successfully raised more than A$95,000 (approximately $65,000 USD) through a special online auction benefiting a South Australian cancer charity.
At the start of their Never Coming Home national tour, the Australian hip-hop trio launched an auction that gave fans the chance to purchase signed memorabilia, rare items, and exclusive collectibles. All proceeds were designated for Lion Hearts Learning, a charity dedicated to supporting children and families affected by cancer and those with compromised immune systems due to serious health conditions.
On Thursday, March 27, Suffa (Matthew Lambert), MC Pressure (Daniel Smith), and DJ Debris (Barry Francis) shared the exciting news that the auction had raised over A$95,000.
In a statement posted on their social media channels, the group expressed gratitude for the community’s generosity: "Lion Hearts Learning can now open a new Playgroup/Preschool in the north of Adelaide, giving so many more children in need access to their services." This expansion means more children and families facing cancer or other serious health issues will receive vital support, fostering moments of joy, learning, and connection.
The auction featured a range of coveted items including a 2008 Big Day Out banner, DJ Debris’s signed mixer used in the track "Cosby Sweater," platinum plaques, signed vinyl records, and limited-edition collaborations with brands like DC Shoes, Zoo York, and G-Shock.
Suffa reflected on the importance of the cause at the auction’s launch, emphasizing the impact of childhood cancer on many families, including that of fellow band member MC Pressure. He stated, "We’re grateful to be able to help fundraise for a very worthy charity."
Originating from Adelaide, the Hilltop Hoods have a significant legacy in Australian music, holding the record for the most entries on triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown with 23 songs spanning multiple decades. Their consistent success is evident with six consecutive ARIA No. 1 albums from 2006’s The Hard Road through to 2025’s Fall From The Light.
With seven total No. 1 albums, they surpass iconic Australian acts such as AC/DC, Powderfinger, Cold Chisel, and Silverchair. Their achievements include over 1.1 million albums sold, 1.9 billion streams worldwide, 10 ARIA Awards, six APRA Music Awards, and a dedicated lane named in their honor in their hometown.
Their most recent tour, which concluded on Saturday, March 21 at Perth’s RAC Arena, was their largest to date, further solidifying their enduring popularity and influence in the Australian music scene.
The success of this auction not only highlights the strong bond between the Hilltop Hoods and their fans but also demonstrates their commitment to giving back to the community through meaningful support for children and families affected by serious illnesses.
