AceShowbiz - Sam Reid takes center stage as the charismatic vampire rock star Lestat de Lioncourt in the newly released trailer for AMC’s The Vampire Lestat. The teaser, which debuted on Wednesday, showcases Reid’s character as he seeks to rewrite history after living through 265 years as both human and undead.
The series, originally known as Interview With The Vampire and based on Anne Rice’s iconic Vampire Chronicles novels, has been retitled for its third season to focus on Lestat’s story. The character is portrayed as a turbulent immortal rock star eager to reclaim his narrative and legacy.
In the trailer, Lestat confidently declares, “It’s my era. I’m a rock star now,” while sporting boots with the words “Hate” and “Me” emblazoned on the soles, emphasizing his rebellious attitude. The fast-paced, stylized teaser highlights his attempt to set the record straight by rewriting the vampire chronicles through his own perspective.
However, as Lestat tries to control the narrative, his tumultuous past resurfaces, haunting him with muses from earlier times. The character voices a powerful confession: “I’m immortal... I’ve been a monster. This is my reckoning.” AMC’s Immortal Universe series features a unique moment where Lestat performs a version of Billy Idol’s hit song Dancing With Myself, reinforcing his rock star persona.
Alongside Reid, the cast includes Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, and Jennifer Ehle. The show is executive produced by Mark Johnson and led by creator, writer, and showrunner Rolin Jones, with additional executive producers Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and Anne Rice.
The Vampire Lestat promises to delve deeper into the complexities of its immortal protagonist, exploring themes of identity, fame, and self-reckoning within the supernatural landscape AMC has crafted.
