AceShowbiz - During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on Happy Sad Confused, Matt Bomer opened up about a hidden musical project linked to the 2015 film Magic Mike XXL. The two-time Emmy-nominated actor revealed that he recorded an unreleased EP featuring songs connected to the movie's soundtrack.
The genesis of the project dates back to the original 2012 Magic Mike film directed by Steven Soderbergh. While filming the sequel, Bomer’s co-star Channing Tatum asked him to perform for background artists between scenes. Choosing to cover a Jodeci rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Lately," Bomer's singing impressed the production team so much that they decided to include his voice in the follow-up.
For Magic Mike XXL, Bomer recorded a cover of D'Angelo’s "Untitled (How Does It Feel)," which was part of the unreleased EP. The project also involved collaboration with the renowned songwriter Diane Warren, who holds 17 Oscar nominations. These recordings remain in the vault, described as "rough tracks," and have yet to be released publicly.
This revelation sheds light on a lesser-known creative aspect of the Magic Mike franchise, showcasing Bomer’s musical talents alongside his acting. Fans of both the actor and the films may eagerly await any future announcements regarding the official release of these tracks.
