Nine Inch Nails & Boys Noize collide. Hear their new collaborative album before the live debut at Coachella. Industrial metal meets techno.
- April 17, 2026
AceShowbiz - Nine Inch Nails has once again made a powerful impact with the release of their latest collaborative album, Nine Inch Noize, created in partnership with the German techno producer Boys Noize.
The album dropped precisely at midnight, delivering a 46-minute experience packed with 12 dynamic mashups. This release serves as a prelude to the global live debut of the collaborative act Nine Inch Noize, scheduled for the upcoming Coachella festival on Saturday, April 11. At the Sahara Tent, fans will hear reimagined versions of classic Nine Inch Nails tracks like "Heresy" brought to life on stage.
The collaboration between Trent Reznor and Alex Ridha, better known as Boys Noize, blurs the lines between the raw intensity of industrial metal and the pulsating energy of techno. This album walks the fine line between studio precision and live concert chaos, making it both a club-ready record and a visceral metal experience.
Boys Noize has been deeply embedded in the recent Nine Inch Nails world, serving as the opening act for their extensive 2025/26 Peel It Back international tour. This 63-date run saw the two acts not only share the stage separately but also perform segments together, showcasing the synergy that would culminate in the creation of Nine Inch Noize.
Prior to this album, Ridha collaborated with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on a remix of their acclaimed techno-forward soundtrack for the film Challengers, further cementing the creative bond between these artists.
As the Peel It Back tour wrapped up in Sacramento last March, frontman Reznor addressed speculation about the band's future touring plans. During a Tulsa show, he had remarked, "I don't know if we're going to be touring anymore after this," which fans quickly interpreted as a sign that the band might be stepping back from live performances.
However, Reznor later clarified those comments, explaining: "What I said was, 'This is the last show of this tour and we don't have any shows booked and we don't have any plans to book any shows anytime in the future, so far.' That doesn't mean we may not tour again. We may tour again. It won't be next month, it won't be this year. I never said we were intentionally stopping, and I never meant that."
This clarification assures fans that while no immediate tour dates are scheduled, the possibility of future live performances remains open.
Nine Inch Nails has remained prolific and full of surprises lately. Alongside this new album, the band recently released a companion album to their Tron: Ares soundtrack, titled Tron Ares: Divergence. This continues the work of Oscar-winning composers Reznor and Ross, whose original soundtrack for TRON: Ares debuted impressively at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Over their career, Nine Inch Nails has made a significant mark on the charts with eight songs entering the Billboard Hot 100 and 18 albums appearing on the Billboard 200. Their two No. 1 albums, The Fragile (1999) and With Teeth (2015), highlight their enduring appeal. In recognition of their influence, the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
The new album Nine Inch Noize arrives just ahead of the second weekend of Coachella, where Reznor and Boys Noize are expected to reprise their live collaboration on Saturday, April 18, further solidifying their innovative partnership in front of a global audience.
Fans and newcomers alike can stream Nine Inch Noize now to experience this fusion of industrial metal and electronic music, a testament to the evolving sound and creative vision of Nine Inch Nails and Boys Noize.
