AceShowbiz - School Spirits on Paramount+ has been officially renewed for a fourth season, extending the popular YA drama’s supernatural storyline. The announcement arrives about three weeks after the conclusion of season three, which ended with a major shift for the show's characters.

The series follows Peyton List as Maddie, a teenager who finds herself navigating the afterlife while trapped haunting her high school. Up until the season three finale, Maddie and the other spirits were confined within the school’s walls. However, the barrier that kept them there was destroyed, opening new possibilities for the story moving forward.

Kristian Ventura, Spencer MacPherson, Kiara Pichardo, Sarah Yarkin, Nick Pugliese, Rainbow Wedell, Josh Zuckerman, Maria Dizzia, Ci Hang Ma, Miles Elliot, and Milo Manheim also star in the ensemble cast, contributing to the show’s dynamic portrayal of afterlife experiences intertwined with high school drama.

While many streaming platforms are experiencing a resurgence in youth-oriented content, Paramount+ currently offers only two original series in this category: School Spirits and the youth-focused Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which is set to conclude after its second season.

The series was created and is co-run by Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud, who continue in their roles as showrunners. Oliver Goldstick, known for his work on Pretty Little Liars and Bridgerton, served as showrunner in earlier seasons and will return as a consultant for the upcoming fourth season. Executive producing the show alongside the Trinruds is Peyton List, under the banner of Paramount TV Studios.

School Spirits remains a standout offering for Paramount+ in its YA drama lineup, promising to explore new story directions following the expanded freedom of its ghostly characters beyond the high school setting.
