Latabia Woodward is not typically one to speak publicly about her son’s personal life, especially on social media, understanding the risks of misinformation online. However, the extraordinary circumstances compelled her to break her silence.

In a social media post, she wrote, “Six days ago, my son was shot. Four days later, he was released from the hospital. Last night, he was on a stage doing what he loves to do.” She called him a miracle walking and attributed his recovery to God’s grace and mercy.

The incident itself occurred on a Monday and involved a confrontation between groups connected to Offset and fellow rapper Lil Tjay. According to a probable cause affidavit, tensions escalated after members of Lil Tjay’s crew allegedly initiated a fight with another group, which led to the shooting.

Following the event, Lil Tjay was arrested on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct affray charge but was released the next day. He has denied any involvement in the shooting and has publicly insulted Offset since, calling him a “rat.”

Despite the severity of the shooting, Offset’s injuries were not life-threatening. Within a day of being hospitalized, he was seen smoking a cigarette.
