AceShowbiz - Hulu has unveiled the trailer for Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, a new R-rated action-comedy film that stars Vince Vaughn and James Marsden as two gangsters caught in a wild, time-traveling adventure. The movie is written and directed by BenDavid Grabinski, and it is scheduled for release on March 27, following its world premiere at SXSW later this month.

The story centers on the characters Mike (played by James Marsden) and Nick (played by Vince Vaughn), two mobsters who find themselves entangled in a chaotic night involving the woman they both love, portrayed by Eiza González. Their night takes an unexpected turn when they discover a working time machine, providing them a chance to fix past mistakes and survive the night.

In the trailer, Vaughn delivers a humorous yet intriguing line: "I came back in a time machine. I want to try to right some wrongs here. But there is a person that could fuck this whole thing up, and that person is me." He later explains the stakes further, saying, "The first time that we went through tonight, Mike died. But that's why I'm back. We get one chance to fix it."

The film also features a robust supporting cast, including Eiza González, Keith David, Jimmy Tatro, Stephen Root, Lewis Tan, Ben Schwartz, Emily Hampshire, and Arturo Castro. Produced by Andrew Lazar with executive producers Richard Middleton and Vanessa Humphrey, the project comes from 20th Century Studios.

BenDavid Grabinski, who previously directed Happily, both wrote and directed Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. The film blends elements of comedy, action, and sci-fi, combining time travel with double-crossing and chaotic antics.

Both leads have busy upcoming schedules. Vince Vaughn starred last year in the Netflix film Nonnas and will appear in the upcoming second season of Apple TV’s Bad Monkey. Meanwhile, James Marsden, who recently earned an Emmy nomination for the Hulu show Jury Duty, stars on Hulu’s Paradise and will soon appear in the highly anticipated films Avengers: Doomsday and Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

During a discussion with The Hollywood Reporter last year, Vaughn reflected on the challenges comedy films face in today’s market. He noted that studios often say, "People have a TV," implying that this limits theatrical comedy audiences. But he questioned why horror films continue to succeed at the box office, suggesting that audiences crave a communal experience that might extend beyond just horror or action genres.

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice promises to deliver an entertaining mix of humor, action, and time-bending twists, making it a film to watch on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ starting March 27.
