AceShowbiz - Alec Botnick has been appointed as the new President of Nickelodeon Animation Studios as part of a strategic consolidation under CBS Studios.
This move follows the integration of CBS and Paramount cable assets overseen by George Cheeks, Chair of TV Media. After BET Studios transitioned to a label within CBS Studios last December, Nickelodeon Animation Studios will now also operate as a label within the television studio led by David Stapf.
The consolidation effort unites all production units under Cheeks' expanded portfolio, which grew following the Skydance merger, into a single entity: CBS Studios. This restructuring aims to streamline operations and enhance the synergy among various CBS and Paramount media properties.
The announcement was made public through an internal memo from George Cheeks, obtained by Deadline, which detailed the organizational changes and highlighted Alec Botnick's new leadership role at Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
With this restructuring, Nickelodeon Animation Studios is set to function within the broader CBS Studios framework, aligning its creative and production efforts more closely with the parent company’s strategic goals.
This development marks a significant step in the ongoing integration of CBS and Paramount assets, reflecting a broader industry trend towards consolidation for efficiency and expanded creative collaboration.
