AceShowbiz - BTS is making a highly anticipated comeback with their WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG,' marking their first full global tour since before the pandemic.
It has been nearly four years since the group last performed together on stage. Their previous concert as a group took place at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium on April 16, 2022, as part of the Permission to Dance on Stage series. Now, on April 9, 2026, BTS will launch their hometown shows at Goyang Stadium in South Korea, reigniting their worldwide presence.
Despite the lengthy break from group activities, BTS has not been inactive. The band went on hiatus in 2022 while all seven members completed their mandatory military service. This period also allowed each member to explore solo careers, showcasing their individual talents both on the charts and on stage. Every member achieved significant solo milestones, with all seven placing within the top 20 on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts. These solo accomplishments were undoubtedly supported by the group's established global fanbase and prior successes.
BTS initially focused their tours within Asian markets, such as their 2015 Wake Up: Open Your Eyes Japan Tour. The group's international breakthrough arrived with The Wings Tour in 2017, which took them beyond Asia to arenas in the United States, including venues like the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Additional stops in Sydney and São Paulo expanded their reach to three new continents, solidifying their global impact.
The Love Yourself World Tour further elevated BTS's international stature, extending to stadiums across Asia, Europe, and both Americas through the Speak Yourself extension in 2019. This tour was historic: the group landed third on the year-end Top Tours chart, grossing $196.4 million and selling 1.6 million tickets. They became the highest-ranking non-English-language act in Boxscore history at that time, a record later surpassed by Bad Bunny in 2022.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 Map of the Soul Tour, but BTS returned for limited performances in Los Angeles, Seoul, and Las Vegas between 2021 and 2022. Their four-night runs at Allegiant Stadium and SoFi Stadium dominated the midyear 2022 Top Boxscores chart, occupying the Nos. 1 and 2 positions consecutively.
Following this, a lengthy pause has led to the imminent start of the WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG.' As the band's history has demonstrated, the individual journeys of each member have contributed to their collective success. Their solo endeavors since 2022 will now inform and enhance their group performances as they reunite.
Among the members, J-Hope stands out with his solo album, Jack in the Box, released in 2022. His collaboration "Killin' It Girl," featuring GloRilla, became his highest-charting hit, reaching No. 40 on the Hot 100, No. 3 on the Global 200, and No. 2 on the Global Excl. U.S. charts.
J-Hope's solo touring efforts have been equally impressive. His The Hope on the Stage Tour earned $79.9 million and sold over half a million tickets across Asia and North America. This tour ranked No. 32 on the 2025 year-end Top Tours chart and placed No. 3 on the K-pop-specific ranking, making it the highest-grossing K-pop solo tour to date.
As BTS embarks on their WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG,' fans worldwide eagerly await the fusion of their collective energy and the unique influences each member gained during their time apart. This tour promises to be a milestone in their ongoing journey, combining past achievements with fresh, individual creativity.
