Will Jon Hamm return as Gabriel in Good Omens season 3? The acclaimed actor weighs in on reprising his role in the Prime Video fantasy series.

AceShowbiz - Good Omens star Jon Hamm remains a prominent figure in television as he weighs in on the possibility of reprising his role in the upcoming third season of the acclaimed Prime Video fantasy series. Known widely for his Emmy-winning work on Mad Men, Hamm has recently appeared in projects such as Your Friends & Neighbors season 2 and the Pixar film Hoppers. His diverse recent credits also include Landman, Transformers One, Fargo, and Mean Girls.
The show, based on the beloved fantasy novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, chronicles the adventures of celestial and infernal beings set against modern London. Hamm plays the angel Gabriel, a character who gained significant importance in the second season. When asked by RadioTimes whether he would return for season 3, Hamm responded, "That's a good question! That's up to people whose paychecks are significantly larger than mine so I'll leave that to them, but things ended up very well with Archangel Gabriel."
At the conclusion of season 2, Gabriel falls in love with the demon Beelzebub, portrayed by Shelley Conn. The two characters leave Heaven and Hell to be together, signaling a major shift for Gabriel’s storyline. Hamm elaborated, "I think he's found his true love and is floating the universe somewhere, so there's always a chance that he will re-coalesce in some way, shape or form. So here's hoping."
Given that season 3 is scheduled to premiere on May 13, 2026, it is likely that any scenes featuring Hamm have already been filmed, though he remains coy about confirming his involvement. The series has faced unique challenges recently due to controversy surrounding Neil Gaiman, the co-author of the original novel. Since allegations of sexual assault against Gaiman surfaced in 2024, the production of Good Omens has been affected. Notably, the third season was shortened to a single 90-minute episode, compared to six episodes each in the first two seasons.
Good Omens season 1 adapts the source material directly, while seasons 2 and 3 expand the story with original writing. The forthcoming finale is expected to focus primarily on wrapping up the romantic storyline between Michael Sheen’s Aziraphale and David Tennant’s Crowley. While fans might hope to see Gabriel and Beelzebub again, their appearances could be limited or omitted to streamline the narrative.
