AceShowbiz - Propeller One-Way Night Coach, the directorial debut of John Travolta, is set to have its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in May. Following its debut at Cannes, the film will be released on Apple TV+ on May 29 as part of the Apple Original Films lineup.
This relatively low-profile project is inspired by a 1997 children’s book of the same name, which Travolta authored for his son. The film reflects his longtime passion for aviation, a subject close to his heart as a licensed pilot since childhood.
The mid-length film stars newcomer Clark Shotwell as Jeff, a young airplane enthusiast, alongside Kelly Eviston-Quinnett, who plays Jeff’s mother. Their characters embark on a one-way cross-country flight to Hollywood, transforming what seems like a simple journey into a memorable adventure. The story captures the essence of the golden age of aviation, featuring enchanting moments such as airline meals, engaging flight attendants, and unexpected stopovers.
Ella Bleu Travolta, John Travolta’s daughter, also appears as a flight attendant, sharing screen time with Olga Hoffmann. The film explores the magic and unpredictability of air travel through the eyes of a young boy, setting the stage for his future aspirations.
With a nostalgic tone and charming narrative, Propeller One-Way Night Coach promises to be a unique addition to this year’s Cannes lineup, as well as a heartfelt project highlighting Travolta’s personal interests and family involvement.
