AceShowbiz - At the 2026 BRIT Awards, RAYE delivered a memorable performance featuring her latest single "Nightingale Lane" alongside her 2025 hit, "Where Is My Husband!". The ceremony took place on February 28, where the singer was nominated for Song of the Year and Pop Act categories.
RAYE captivated the audience by bringing a full orchestra to accompany her energetic rendition of "Where Is My Husband!", a chart-topping hit from last year. As she approached the final chorus, she slowed the tempo and introduced her new ballad with a personal message: "The next song we're gonna sing is about a man who didn't buy me a ring. It's such a shame, this song is called 'Nightingale Lane'."
Launching into the heartfelt ballad, RAYE sang, "Somebody loved me once/And someday, somebody will again/Like the way you loved me/On Nightingale Lane." This track is part of her forthcoming album This Music May Contain Hope, scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. The album was initially teased during her January tour kickoff in Poland.
RAYE’s new album will follow her critically acclaimed breakthrough My 21st Century Blues. She is currently touring in promotion of the upcoming release, which is uniquely structured with the tracklist divided into four "seasons." Each side of the vinyl will represent a different season, offering a thematic listening experience.
Speaking about the project, RAYE explained, "Music is medicine, I've always said that. I guess I'm in the process of making medicine for myself that I can share with the world. I want us all to say to ourselves that it's going to be all right, and I'm going to have faith in the seeds that I've planted beneath the snow. I wanted to create something that is a hug, bed or soft place for that person who needs it."
In 2024, RAYE faced a setback when her second album's progress was delayed after her car was stolen, along with her songwriting books. Fortunately, in October 2025, she recovered the car with her songwriting materials intact, allowing her to resume work on the album.
"Where Is My Husband!" became RAYE's second UK Number One and reached Number 13 in the US charts. The song was praised by NME as one of 2025's best, described as a "jazzy, soul-pop bop" that highlighted her impressive vocal talents, enhanced by a vibrant brass band arrangement.
Despite RAYE's strong presence and nominations, this year’s BRIT Awards were dominated by Olivia Dean, who took home four awards including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.
