AceShowbiz - Happy Hours marks the reunion of Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes, who once captivated audiences as Pacey Witter and Joey Potter on the iconic teen drama Dawson's Creek. The two actors, both 47, came together again on the set of their upcoming movie trilogy, filmed in New York City.
Jackson expressed his excitement during an interview on Today aired Tuesday, March 10, describing Holmes as a "lifelong friend" and highlighting the special nature of their collaboration. He praised her for creating a unique space that allowed them to reconnect professionally after so many years. The film, directed by Holmes, features the pair portraying a couple navigating the complexities of a past relationship and deciding if their love story deserves a second chance.
Filming for the trilogy took place in June 2025 and on July 21, 2025, in New York. Jackson was seen wearing a green button-down shirt, while Holmes opted for a pink flannel layered over black pants. Their evident warmth and connection were visible both on and off camera.
Jackson revealed that the trilogy will explore three distinct phases of a romantic relationship. The first installment focuses on the joyous process of falling in love, which Holmes is currently editing. He expressed hope that this initial film’s success will pave the way for the completion of the remaining two chapters.
Reflecting on their past, Jackson fondly recalled the intense time they spent together during Dawson's Creek, a series that aired from 1998 to 2003. Despite maintaining a strong friendship over the years, they had never before shared the screen again until now. He described the experience of working together as magical and noted that their chemistry remains as strong as ever.
Fans of the original show have been thrilled to see the duo reunited, especially after images surfaced of them pushing a Bugaboo Fox 5 Renew baby stroller on set, sparking curiosity about how their characters might evolve within this new story.
During the same Today interview, Jackson also addressed the recent passing of their former Dawson’s Creek co-star, James Van Der Beek. Van Der Beek died on February 11 at age 48 after battling stage III colorectal cancer. Jackson spoke candidly about the impact of the loss, especially through the lens of his own experience as a father. He described Van Der Beek as a man of deep faith and kindness, a devoted husband, and a dedicated father to his six children.
