AceShowbiz - Weezer recently treated fans to an intimate acoustic rooftop performance in Venice Beach, marking an exciting kickoff to their upcoming The Gathering tour. The band chose the iconic Hinano Cafe rooftop, reminiscent of the legendary Let It Be sessions, for this special pop-up event held on a Friday.
The setlist featured a five-song selection of beloved Weezer hits including "Undone - The Sweater Song," "Buddy Holly," "Island in the Sun," and "Say It Ain't So." Adding a unique touch to the show, Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino joined the band for a performance of "Go Away," creating a memorable collaboration for the intimate crowd.
This rooftop gig is part of a larger series of surprise events under the banner "Weezer: The Gathering - Initiation Week." Fans can look forward to a variety of activities around Los Angeles, such as a Weezer-themed trivia night at a local bar and a pickleball tournament featuring band members, scheduled for March 30.
Weezer’s The Gathering Tour is set to launch on September 8 in Sacramento. The extensive 32-show trek will cover venues across the U.S. and Canada, culminating in a grand finale in Los Angeles on October 24. Joining Weezer on this tour will be special guests The Shins and Silversun Pickups, promising a diverse and exciting lineup for attendees.
This series of pop-up shows and unique events highlights Weezer’s commitment to connecting with fans in creative and personal ways ahead of their major tour later this year.
