AceShowbiz - Maddox Jolie-Pitt, the eldest son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, has chosen to omit his father's last name professionally in the credits of his mother’s latest movie.

For the upcoming film Couture, where Maddox worked as an assistant director, he is credited simply as Maddox Jolie, according to PEOPLE. This marks a change from his previous credit as "Maddox Jolie-Pitt" on Angelina’s 2024 Netflix movie Maria, where he served as a production assistant.

This adjustment aligns Maddox with some of his younger siblings, who have also dropped "Pitt" from their last names in various contexts. For example, Shiloh, another child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, legally removed "Pitt" from her name in August 2024 after receiving court approval. She had filed the petition shortly after turning 18, changing her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

Similarly, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, adopted first by Angelina in 2005 and then by Brad in 2006, appears to have informally dropped the "Pitt" surname. This was noticeable during a sorority event at Spelman College in November 2023.

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the twin daughter of the couple born in 2008, also seems to be distancing herself from the "Pitt" name. She was credited as Vivienne Jolie in the June 2024 Playbill for Broadway’s The Outsiders, where she worked as a production assistant.

These changes come amid a longstanding divide between the two parents, who have been separated since filing for divorce in 2016 and took eight years to settle their arrangements. The gradual dropping of "Pitt" by the children may reflect this growing distance.

A representative for Brad Pitt was contacted regarding this development but declined to comment.
