AceShowbiz - Crispin Glover, the actor known for his role as George McFly in the 1985 film Back to the Future, has been named in a civil lawsuit filed by a British woman alleging serious misconduct. The plaintiff, identified only as "Jane Doe," claims that Glover coerced her into moving to Los Angeles, forced her into a controlling relationship as a live-in girlfriend and "sex slave," and ultimately left her homeless following a physical altercation nearly two years ago.
The lawsuit, filed in California Superior Court, accuses Glover of multiple violations including battery and assault, fraud and wrongful eviction, malicious prosecution, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and a breach of California's civil rights statute known as the Bane Act. According to the legal documents, Jane Doe was allegedly held captive and exploited by Glover for sex and unpaid labor under false pretenses.
The complaint outlines that the two met online in 2015 and entered into a relationship. Jane Doe, described as a former model, claims she was persuaded by Glover to relocate from the UK to Los Angeles with promises of employment as his assistant and a place to live. Their first in-person meeting reportedly took place in Dresden, Germany, in 2023, where Jane Doe alleges Glover showed her pieces of his personal Nazi memorabilia collection and began "grooming" her with hopes of a new life in Hollywood tied to a business arrangement with him.
Jane Doe states that after moving to Los Angeles early in 2024, the relationship deteriorated rapidly. The suit claims that Glover increasingly sought to control her movements, tracking her whereabouts and demanding that she serve as his live-in girlfriend and sex slave. She alleges that when she resisted his escalating demands, tensions grew, culminating in a physical confrontation in March 2024 during which Glover allegedly grabbed her by the neck, causing visible injury.
Following this incident, Jane Doe claims that Glover changed the locks on his residence, effectively rendering her homeless. The plaintiff is pursuing a jury trial and unspecified damages for the alleged offenses she endured.
Glover has firmly denied all accusations through his legal representatives. His team asserts that he was in fact the victim of an unprovoked felony assault by Jane Doe at his Los Angeles home on March 2, 2024. They state that Glover contacted the Los Angeles Police Department, which responded to the scene, investigated the incident, and arrested Jane Doe. These events are documented in law enforcement records and supported by a restraining order that Glover filed against Jane Doe later that year.
In a statement sent to The Hollywood Reporter, Glover's representative described the allegations as "baseless" and said that Glover intends to vigorously defend himself, confident that the legal process will reveal the lawsuit to be without merit. The malicious prosecution claim in the civil suit is linked to the restraining order Glover obtained.
Throughout his career, Glover has played a variety of eccentric and unconventional characters. Aside from his iconic role in Back to the Future, he has appeared as a disturbed cousin in Wild at Heart, portrayed Andy Warhol in The Doors, and taken on the role of a silent villain in Charlie’s Angels (2000). He has also directed several independent films, including What Is It?, It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine., and the 2023 release No! YOU’RE WRONG. or: Spooky Action at a Distance.
The civil lawsuit remains pending, and both parties are expected to present their cases in court as the matter proceeds.
