- February 14, 2026
AceShowbiz - YUNGBLUD has achieved a major milestone by topping Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart for the first time with his single “Zombie.” The track reached No. 1 on the chart dated February 21, marking the artist’s breakthrough at the summit after nine previous chart appearances.
The British singer-songwriter, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, first entered the Alternative Airplay chart in 2018 with “I Love You, Will You Marry Me,” which peaked at No. 26. Prior to “Zombie,” his highest position came in 2022 with “Fleabag,” which reached No. 6. This new achievement solidifies YUNGBLUD’s growing influence in the alternative rock scene.
In 2026, YUNGBLUD became the second artist to reach No. 1 on Alternative Airplay for the first time, following The Paradox’s success with “Get the Message.” The previous year saw a record ten acts earn their first No. 1 on this chart, the highest number since 1997, highlighting a dynamic and evolving alternative music landscape.
Alongside its Alternative Airplay success, “Zombie” climbed to a career-best No. 6 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, which combines radio audience metrics across all rock formats. The song garnered 3.5 million audience impressions in the tracking week ending February 12, reflecting a 3% increase. This surpasses YUNGBLUD’s previous best on the chart with “My Only Angel,” a collaboration with Aerosmith that peaked at No. 13 in December.
“Zombie” also advanced on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, moving from No. 37 to No. 34. This marks YUNGBLUD’s second entry on that chart, the first being “My Only Angel,” which reached No. 6.
The single currently holds the No. 25 spot on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, which accounts for multiple data points including streaming, sales, and airplay. In the week of January 30 to February 5, “Zombie” accumulated 1.4 million official U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads, contributing to its steady climb.
“Zombie” is featured on YUNGBLUD’s fourth studio album, Idols, which debuted at No. 7 on the Top Alternative Albums chart last July. The album has amassed 126,000 equivalent album units to date. Additionally, a new version of “Zombie” featuring The Smashing Pumpkins was released on January 2, adding further momentum.
Billboard’s charts dated February 21 will be updated on Wednesday, February 18, a day later than usual due to the Presidents Day holiday.
