Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple Martin shines in surprise music performance
- October 21, 2025
AceShowbiz - The musical legacy of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin appears to be flourishing in the next generation, as their daughter Apple Martin recently took to the stage in a surprise performance. The 21-year-old joined the band Jade Street for an impromptu set during their concert at Cannery Hall in Nashville on October 17, showcasing her burgeoning talent and delighting attendees.
During her unexpected appearance, Apple Martin, currently a student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, captivated the audience with her understated yet engaging presence. She sported a minimalist ensemble consisting of a white cropped tank top and a black miniskirt, swaying rhythmically to the music and playfully tossing her blonde hair. A video of the performance, widely shared on TikTok on October 19, quickly went viral, drawing significant attention to her musical inclinations.
This live debut seems to be a significant step in Apple Martin’s broader foray into the music industry. Just days prior to her stage appearance, she and Jade Street had teased an upcoming collaboration. The joint Instagram post announced a new track titled “Satellites,†with its release slated for October 28, indicating a more formalized musical pursuit beyond impromptu performances.
While Apple Martin's upcoming single marks a new chapter, it’s not her first encounter with professional music. She previously earned a notable songwriting credit with her father’s globally renowned band, Coldplay. She co-wrote the poignant song “Let Somebody Go,†which featured pop superstar Selena Gomez and was included on Coldplay’s 2021 album, Music of the Spheres. The lyrics, “When I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain, they said love is only equal to the pain,†highlighted her early lyrical prowess.
Her comfort on stage is also not entirely new. In October 2016, Apple Martin previously joined her father, Chris Martin, for a duet at a charity event benefiting the Malibu Boys and Girls Club. There, she and Chris, who also shares son Moses Martin, 19, with Gwyneth Paltrow, performed a heartfelt rendition of Ariana Grande’s hit song “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart,†giving a glimpse into her potential then.
Despite these high-profile musical ventures, Apple Martin appears to be balancing her artistic passions with her academic commitments. Her musical pursuits, for now, remain a significant side project as she continues to focus on earning her degree. In an interview with Interview magazine in April, she shared insights into her academic life, stating, “I’m a law, history, and society major, but I wish I would’ve taken—maybe I’ll take a theater course before I leave.†She added, “It’s a fun balance between my very different extracurriculars and my major.†This perspective underscores her dedication to both her education and her evolving creative journey, suggesting that while music is clearly in her blood, her path is multifaceted and thoughtfully considered.
