Fans of the hit video game 'Split Fiction' will soon see their favorite co-op adventure come to life on the big screen with Sydney Sweeney set to star and executive produce.

AceShowbiz - Sydney Sweeney is lined up to star in the much-anticipated film adaptation of the popular video game "Split Fiction." Helmed by acclaimed director Jon M. Chu, best known for "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Wicked", this adaptation promises to be a thrilling ride for fans of the fantasy and science fiction adventure.

The screenplay is being crafted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the talented duo behind "Deadpool & Wolverine." The movie will be produced under the collaborative efforts of Mike Goldberg and Dmitri M. Johnson's Story Kitchen, along with Chu's own Electric Somewhere.

"Split Fiction" tells the story of two authors, Mio and Zoe, who find themselves ensnared in the fantastical worlds they created. The video game, released in early March, was an instant hit, selling more than two million copies in its first week and garnering rave reviews from players and critics alike.

While it remains undecided whether Sweeney will play Mio or Zoe, her involvement in the project as both star and executive producer has already generated significant buzz. This film marks not only another step in Sweeney's burgeoning career but also her second video game adaptation in the works.

She's also collaborating with "Transformers" director Michael Bay on a movie adaptation of the Sega video game "OutRun." Universal Pictures is producing the "OutRun" film, with Bay set to direct and produce alongside Sweeney.

Additionally, Sweeney is set to star and produce an adaptation based on an English teacher's Reddit story titled "I Pretended to Be a Missing Girl" and a thriller "The Housemaid" along with Amanda Seyfried.
