At 62 years old, Oscar-nominated actress Demi Moore recounts her journey from excruciating beauty habits to embracing a kinder, healthier relationship with her body.

AceShowbiz - Throughout her Hollywood career, Demi Moore felt immense pressure to conform to an idealized standard of beauty. In her early days on the silver screen, she admits she resorted to extreme diet and exercise regimens that, in retrospect, amounted to torturing her body.

"I did torture myself," she revealed to People magazine. "All because I placed so much value on what my outsides looked like."

Moore, 62, reflected on her grueling routines while filming iconic movies like "Striptease" and "G.I. Jane." For the latter, she recalled biking a staggering 26 miles from her Malibu home to Paramount Studios, pushing her body to its limits.

"All because I had placed so much value on what my outsides looked like," she confessed, highlighting her former antagonistic relationship with her body.

However, Moore's mindset has evolved significantly. Today, she focuses on overall health and well-being rather than just appearance. "I think the biggest difference today is it's so much more about my overall health and longevity and quality of life," Moore explained.

She described her current relationship with her body as intuitive and relaxed, contrasting sharply with her former tendencies to punish herself.

Moore's transformation wasn't just physical; it was deeply emotional and psychological. "When I was younger, I felt like my body was betraying me. And so I just tried to control it. And now I don't operate from that place. It's a much more aligned relationship," she said. This evolution has allowed her to be more accepting of her body as it ages, focusing on health over aesthetics.

Now crowned Most Beautiful by People magazine, Moore emphasizes the importance of internal wellness. Her routine includes short meditation sessions, journaling, and consuming nutrient-dense food.

Although she doesn't eat meat, she does eat eggs and acknowledges the importance of sleep and balance. "I still do drink Red Bull. I do love it. But not many. One," she shared with a laugh.

Through her journey from self-criticism to self-acceptance, Moore's story resonates with many who face similar pressures. Her newfound gentility towards herself serves as an inspiring reminder that true beauty comes from authenticity and self-love.
