'Rocket Man' hitmaker Elton John has reportedly resorted to simplify his autograph because of the ongoing health struggle and severe vision loss from an eye infection.

AceShowbiz - Sir Elton John is facing severe health challenges that have dramatically affected his eyesight. At 77, he lost vision in his right eye due to a severe infection contracted in July, leaving him with limited vision in his left eye as well.

This unfortunate turn of events has forced him to simplify his signature, now signing autographs with just the initial "E" and a kiss.

Despite these setbacks, Sir Elton remains positive and hopeful. In a candid interview with The Guardian, he expressed newfound respect for sight-impaired individuals and maintains an optimistic outlook, "There have been days I've been miserable, but then I think about how lucky I am... Hopefully, my sight will improve."

The legendary artist's deteriorating vision posed a significant challenge during the production of his latest album, "Who Believes In Angels?". The album, a collaboration with singer Brandi Carlile and longtime writing partner Bernie Taupin, was produced by Andrew Watt.

Initially, Elton feared his declining sight might prevent him from completing the project. Scenes from his upcoming documentary reveal moments of intense frustration and self-doubt.

Speaking to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2, Elton admitted, "I was in a very very dark place of doubt... I wasn't feeling well, and after I got through that weak period of feeling like that, it just flew and it was just amazing."

He credited the successful completion of the album to the combined energy and support of his collaborators, saying, "It was the combination of all the energy in the room, all the aggravation, all the anxiety, pushed us to make electric music."

His health issues have also impacted his ability to enjoy and participate in some of his most anticipated events. For instance, he couldn't fully experience the gala performance of his new musical adaptation of "The Devil Wears Prada".

Recounting this to "Good Morning America", Elton shared, "I can't see anything. I can't read anything, I can't watch anything... However, I love to hear it."

Elton John's story is one of resilience and unwavering dedication to his craft, illustrating that even in the face of adversity, one's passion can illuminate the path forward.
