AceShowbiz - Gal Gadot is navigating the complexities of modern parenthood in the era of social media. In an enlightening interview with DuJour Magazine, the 39-year-old actress shared her concerns about raising her four daughters - Alma, Maya, Daniella, and Ori - in a world where filters and curated posts create a false sense of reality.
Reflecting on her upbringing in Israel, Gadot confessed, "I always tell my kids that for me, growing up was so much easier than it is for you. They grew up with all these filters."
"With curated postings. They think it's real, not knowing that it's been totally filtered and retouched. I tell them, 'Whatever you see out there, it's false, not true.' It's a very confusing world for a girl."
Gadot compares her bustling household of six to the "very, very quiet" home she grew up in. She described the mayhem with affection, stating, "If you come to my house, they laugh, they fight, they cry. It's a whole range of emotions, and I love it. Yes, it's a lot. I juggle. I do my best and we have help and my husband does the best job as a dad. I don't sleep a lot."
In addition to the challenges of modern parenting, Gadot also faced a significant health scare during her fourth pregnancy. While expecting her youngest daughter Ori, she endured severe headaches that led to a diagnosis of cerebral venous thrombosis - a rare condition comprising only 3% of strokes worldwide.
Detailing the harrowing experience, Gadot shared, "I had major headaches for three weeks [...] My mom is like, 'You need to check it now. Like, just go and get an MRI.' They found out this horrible thing and we were rushed to the hospital, and they got the baby out immediately."
She underwent an emergency thrombectomy and credited her medical team at Cedars-Sinai for saving her life.
Though the experience was traumatic, Gadot hopes that by sharing her story, she can raise awareness. "Perhaps this is my way of processing everything, of pulling back the curtain on the fragile reality behind the curated moments we share on social media," she explained.
She emphasized the importance of listening to one's body and advocating for personal health.
