AceShowbiz - On the latest episode of "The Kardashians" season 6, Khloe Kardashian opened up about seeking help for her mental wellbeing. However, her mother Kris Jenner was not happy with her pursuit of therapy.
As Khloé prepared vision boards for her upcoming 40th birthday, she expressed her frustrations to sister Kourtney Kardashian, "Mom is not happy." In contrast, her siblings and close friend have been supportive of her therapy journey.
Kourtney speculated in her confessional that Kris' reaction might stem from their own strained relationship. "Maybe my mom saw the reaction that I had with her about therapy," she mused, "and maybe she's like, 'Not the other two! Kourtney is just coming around the corner being nice to me again.' "
The show has also documented how sister Kim Kardashian and friend Malika Haqq have been ardent supporters of Khloé seeking help. Malika earlier remarked she "a hundred percent" believed Khloé would benefit from therapy while Kim, who also sees a therapist, invited Khloé to "be on this journey with me."
Khloé explained that Kris believes she suffers from complex PTSD. Recounting her younger years, Khloé said, "Like how mom would leave me alone with the kids," referring to her experiences babysitting Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner. Kylie later affirmed this, describing how Khloé "was like a second mom to me growing up."
Kourtney in her confessional supported this depiction, explaining that Khloé has "always been a caretaker," not just for the younger sisters but also for herself. "Sometimes - or all the time, pretty much - she treats me like I'm her little sister," she said.
Khloé delved deeper into her need to care for others, revealing insights from her therapist. "My therapist sort of told me one of the reasons why I want to take care of other people so badly is because I got attention and recognition when I was doing like adult-like things like taking care of my sisters, dropping them off at school."
Despite recognizing the importance of self-care, Khloé admitted in her confessional that she hadn't visited her therapist "for like three weeks." Her therapist's concern led to an introspective moment for Khloé. "She's like, 'I feel like you're not taking this seriously.' I'm like, 'Lady, I'm fine.' She's like, 'Well, you're gonna make time for things you want to make time for.' "
