In a heartfelt and eye-opening video, Hunter Schafer describes the impact of President Trump's newly issued executive order on her life, emphasizing the broader implications for the transgender community.

AceShowbiz - Hunter Schafer, known for her role as Jules Vaughn in HBO's "Euphoria," opened up about an unsettling experience prompted by new federal policies following Donald Trump's re-election.

In January, President Trump signed Executive Order 14168, which stipulates that the United States will recognize only two genders: male and female as assigned at birth. This policy has led to immediate real-world consequences for transgender individuals, including Schafer, whose newly issued passport now marks her gender as male.

Schafer shared her thoughts and emotions in a TikTok video, explaining how the order has impacted her life. She revealed that after losing her passport in Barcelona, she applied for a replacement, only to find that her gender marker was changed to male despite identifying and living as a female for years.

"I had a bit of a harsh reality check today, and I felt like it's important to share with whoever is listening," Schafer said in the video.

All of Schafer's government-issued IDs previously listed her gender as female after she transitioned when she's a teenager. Now, her new passport is the first official document, aside from her birth certificate, to label her as male.

"I don't give a f*** that they put an 'M' on my passport. It doesn't change really anything about me or my transness, however, it does make life a little harder," said Schafer, highlighting concerns about increased scrutiny with border patrol agents, which could make travel significantly more challenging.

Schafer also reflected on the policy's broader implications. "No one, no matter how wealthy or white or pretty or whatever, is excluded," she noted, acknowledging her own privilege while emphasizing that these policies affect all transgender individuals.

She mentioned the danger of such policy changes, linking them to historical trends in fascism. "I guess I'm just sort of scared of the way this stuff gets slowly implemented because things just sort of start happening," she added.

LGBTQ+ rights have been a significant issue throughout Trump's political career, and his recent executive orders have rekindled debates on gender identity. While Schafer's experience is personal and immediate, it symbolizes a broader struggle faced by many trans people in the United States.

As she poignantly concluded, "We are never going to stop existing. I'm never going to stop being trans. A letter on a passport can't change that, f*** this administration."

Schafer's activism extends beyond her recent experience; she was among the youngest plaintiffs in the 2016 ACLU and Lambda Legal suit against North Carolina's House Bill 2, a law targeting transgender individuals' rights. Her current situation amplifies the ongoing battle for recognition and equality within the transgender community.
