'Euphoria' actress Hunter Schafer opens up about Dominic Fike's infidelity and her struggle to deal with the aftermath, admitting she initially blamed her gender identity for his cheating.

AceShowbiz - Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike, both prominent figures in the entertainment industry, met on the set of HBO's "Euphoria" and quickly became one of Hollywood's most talked-about couples. Their relationship, which began in early 2022, appeared promising. They went Instagram official in February of that year but unfortunately announced their split in July 2023.

Schafer recently opened up about the breakup during an episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, confirming that it was "mutually agreed upon." She explained, "It's one of the cleaner breakups I've had. We both recognized that this is not working, and we can't do this. We got to go our own separate ways."

However, Schafer revealed that part of the reason for the split was Fike's infidelity. "Part of why the relationship ended is because I got cheated on for the first time," she admitted. "It was this whole process of realizing that cheating has nothing to do with you. It has everything to do with that person and whatever kind of pain they are in and whatever they are dealing with."

Schafer's discovery of Fike's cheating came after she went through his phone, driven by a "gut feeling." Although she wasn't proud of her actions, she emphasized that the experience "fundamentally changed [her] as a person." She tried to rationalize the cheating by blaming her gender identity but ultimately concluded that it was unrelated to her.

Despite the heartbreak, Schafer maintained respect for Fike. "It was so, so hard because we really loved each other. He's a really special person, and I love his soul and everything," she said. Both acknowledged their personal issues contributed to the breakup, with Fike admitting during an Apple Music interview that he was focusing on himself post-breakup.

Their professional lives continue to intertwine, with both set to return for the third season of "Euphoria," scheduled to start filming in January 2025. Fike, though navigating personal challenges, expressed excitement about working on the new season, hinting at a mature approach toward collaboration with former partners.

Schafer, reflecting on her relationship and its end, mentioned, "I think that's also why I'm in this era of, I gotta figure my s*** out. We had a really good thing. But there were things in our own selves that had nothing to do with each other that kept coming up in the way of the relationship."

As Schafer focuses on personal growth, she remains unsure about future public relationships. She candidly shared her thoughts on dating within the entertainment industry, noting the challenges posed by their careers.

"The thing that's tough with musicians - or at least with successful musicians who are doing tours and stuff - and I guess it's the same thing with actors. They have to go off for however many months [on] tour, and then I'm working. It's very hard," Schafer said.
