While the final Indiana Jones film struggled at the box office, Harrison Ford remains unfazed and focuses on new horizons in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for another tentpole franchise.

AceShowbiz - Harrison Ford is taking the disappointing performance of "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" in stride, showing little regret over his fifth and final appearance as the beloved archaeologist. Despite the film's poor box office numbers, which reportedly caused Disney to lose about $143 million, Ford remains at peace with his decision to return for one last adventure.

Reflecting on the unsatisfactory debut of "Dial of Destiny," Ford told the Wall Street Journal Magazine, "S*** happens. I was really the one who felt there was another story to tell. When [Indy] had suffered the consequences of the life that he had to live, I wanted one more chance to pick him up and shake the dust off his ass and stick him out there, bereft of some of his vigor, to see what happened."

Despite mixed reviews and lackluster financial returns, Ford stands by the movie. "I'm still happy I made that movie," he stated.

"Dial of Destiny" featured an ensemble cast that included Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, and John Rhys-Davies, following Indy as he races to retrieve a legendary dial capable of altering history.

With the close of the "Indiana Jones" and "Star Wars" chapters in his career, Ford is now venturing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He is set to play Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross in "Captain America: Brave New World," taking over the role from the late William Hurt. In the film, Ross is not only the President of the United States but also transforms into the Red Hulk.

Ford, who accepted the Marvel role without even seeing a script, expressed enthusiasm for this new challenge. "Why not? I saw enough Marvels to see actors that I admired having a good time," he said. "I didn't really know that at the end I would turn into the Red Hulk."

Commenting on the changing landscape of cinema, Ford shared his nostalgia for the bygone era when movies had a stronger cultural impact. "Now we're in people's houses more than we're in the commons. We work for niche audiences." However, he sees the Marvel franchise as "a big niche," offering the potential for significant box office success.

"Captain America: Brave New World" is set to hit theaters on February 14, and it remains to be seen whether this venture will reignite Ford's box office fortunes. But one thing is certain: at 82, Harrison Ford is still embracing new adventures with the vigor and commitment that have defined his legendary career.
