AceShowbiz - Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been fined $11,255 by the NFL for taunting Buffalo Bills players during last month's AFC championship game. His action was criticized as "unsportsmanlike conduct."
Kelce, 35, was penalized for confronting Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin after Hamlin tackled Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the end zone. Kelce's actions sparked a brief altercation with Bills defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, who also received a $6,722 fine for unnecessary roughness.
Kelce's fine comes amid his team's preparation for their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
The tight end has a history of losing money for his actions on the field, having previously been fined $14,069 for dunking the ball over the goalpost during the Chiefs' Christmas Day victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, Kelce remains unfazed as he's focusing on the Super Bowl with his team. Their journey to the Super Bowl this year was plagued with conspiracy theories suggesting that the NFL was "rigged" in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs to boost ratings for Taylor Swift's appearance at the Super Bowl.
Travis recently stated that the negative attention surrounding his actions has only brought the team closer together. Travis dismissed the speculation that the referee helped them win the game, insisting that the referee was "fair."
