AceShowbiz - Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus has spoken out after his son, Trace Cyrus, publicly expressed concerns about his well-being. The post comes amidst a reported family rift and controversy surrounding Billy Ray's performance at Donald Trump's Liberty Ball.
Billy Ray shared a clip from the music video for his 2009 track "Somebody Said a Prayer," which featured his son Trace. In the post, he wrote that he hoped for "the start of healing" for his family.
"Praying for my family...For my children … sons and daughters…and their mother," he wrote. "Let this moment be the start of healing â¤ï¸ðŸ©¹ for us all. 'The past does not equal the future. ' Amen ðŸ™ðŸ¼"
Trace previously urged Billy Ray to seek help, claiming that he and his siblings had been "genuinely worried" about their dad for years. In the letter, Trace wrote, "You're not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it. Just like I showed up for you at mamaws funeral when you didn't expect me to I'm still here right now."
In a follow-up post, Trace alleged Billy Ray had threatened him with legal action for sharing his concerns. Trace also publicly clashed with his younger brother Braison Cyrus who refuted Trace's claims and insisted their father was "happy and healthy."
The other family members stayed mum, but Billy Ray's daughter Miley Cyrus is reportedly trying to stay out of the family drama. The source claims that Miley has "no interest" in reconciling with her father and that they haven't had a relationship "for a long time."
