AceShowbiz - "Duck Dynasty" star Silas Merritt "Si" Robertson, affectionately known as Uncle Si, was rushed to hospital after a frightening fall during a hunting trip in Arkansas. The 76-year-old fan favorite was participating in a duck hunting expedition when he slipped while exiting a boat, hitting his oxygen tank in the process.
In a recent episode of the "Duck Call Room" podcast, co-hosts Justin Martin and Phillip McMillan recounted the alarming incident. "Typical Silas Robertson, he's in a dang hurry to get out of the boat and into the Polaris," Martin explained. "He fell trying to get out of the boat. It's steep right there."
Despite Si's insistence that he was fine, the mud covering him told another story. Back at the clubhouse, Si's unusual silence raised concerns. Describing the moment, Martin said, "We get back to the clubhouse, and breakfast is done and we're looking up and there's no Si. He's just sitting outside in the cold."
"He was real quiet, another red flag... no stories," Martin recalled of their return to the clubhouse. The unusual behavior led them to suspect that something was seriously wrong.
Sure enough, Si was taken to the ER after his oxygen levels plummeted, a situation exacerbated by what Martin described as a "mini panic attack." His co-host, McMillan, added, "I get a call from Christine's caretaker, Elizabeth. She says, 'Phillip, we're heading to the ER,' " a moment that left him deeply worried.
While no broken bones were found, doctors diagnosed him with bruised ribs. Doctors attributed Si's low oxygen levels to panic attacks triggered by pain from his bruised ribs.
This wasn't his first health scare either; Si underwent lung surgery in 2022 due to complications from COPD and COVID-19.
Despite this scare, fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Si is on the mend and is expected to return to his active lifestyle, just in time for the much-anticipated reboot, "Duck Dynasty: The Revival", slated for a summer premiere.
"We're thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can't wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures," the Robertson family shared in a joint statement.
Uncle Si's resilience and spirit remain as inspiring as ever. Whether he's crafting new duck calls or sharing wild stories on the podcast, one thing's for sure: this "Duck Dynasty" legend isn't slowing down anytime soon.
