In a stirring open letter, Trace Cyrus has expressed his deep concerns for Billy Ray Cyrus, saying the singer is 'not heathy' and urging him to seek help amid public backlash over Billy Ray's performance at President Trump's Liberty Ball.

AceShowbiz - Trace Cyrus has penned an emotional open letter to his father, Billy Ray Cyrus. The letter comes after Billy Ray, 63, faced severe criticism for his performance at President Donald Trump's inaugural Liberty Ball on January 20.

Trace, 35, whom Billy Ray adopted in 1993 after the country star married Trace's mom Tish Cyrus, shared his deep-seated worries about his father's well-being, saying that the family barely recognizes the man he once idolized.

"Since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. I wanted to be just like you," wrote the former Metro Station singer. "The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life. Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now."

Trace's heartfelt message shed light on the strained dynamics within the Cyrus family, emphasizing how Billy Ray's actions have distanced him from his children, including daughters Miley Cyrus, Brandi, and Noah Cyrus.

"Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you've pushed all of us away. Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven't even been there for her," Trace elaborated.

Reflecting on Billy Ray's recent controversial performance, Trace didn't shy away from addressing the public and personal implications. The performance itself experienced multiple technical issues, prompting Billy Ray to momentarily lose his cool on stage.

After the glitches were solved and he was able to resume his set, Billy Ray brushed off his brief meltdown and name-dropped the new POTUS, "In life, when you have technical difficulties, you just gotta keep going, or as President Trump would say, 'You gotta fight.' "

Trace emotionally conveyed, "You're not healthy Dad and everyone is noticing it. Just like I showed up for you at Mamaw's funeral when you didn't expect me to, I'm still here right now."

Trace expressed his own journey of getting clean from alcohol, offering his support to his father. "I don't know what you're struggling with exactly but I think I have a pretty good idea & I'd love to help you if you would open up and receive the help," he concluded, adding, "You know how to reach me. Till that day comes I will continue to pray for you."

While Billy Ray has yet to respond to Trace's open letter, his reaction to the criticism of his Liberty Ball performance reflected his rock-and-roll spirit. "I had a ball at the Liberty Ball last night and I've learned through all these years when the producer says, 'You're on,' you go entertain the folks even if the equipment goes to hell," he told PEOPLE, emphasizing that he enjoyed the night despite the issues.

This emotional letter from Trace Cyrus brings to light not just the public criticisms of a high-profile performance but also the personal struggles and family concerns that often remain hidden behind the scenes.
