AceShowbiz - Rachel Lindsay, the former Bachelorette, has officially closed a significant chapter in her life. She recently finalized her divorce from Bryan Abasolo, her husband of over four years. This resolution came with considerable financial settlements and emotional revelations, which Lindsay candidly discussed in the January 10 episode of her podcast, "Higher Learning with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay".
Lindsay was relieved after reaching the end of the grueling divorce process, "When someone is fighting and fighting you in this way and willing to die on every hill and not willing to compromise at all, for whatever reason they have … you have to, at one point, let go and just be the bigger person and prioritize what is most important to you," she shared on her podcast.
This decision led her to make concessions she wasn't initially comfortable with, such as a $500,000 equalization payment to Abasolo. The settlement also saw Abasolo retaining their Miami condo and 2021 Honda Accord while Lindsay kept their Los Angeles home and 2023 Porsche Macan.
Reflecting on the experience, Lindsay said, "I really want to start rebuilding, and I want to move forward. And I'm able to do that now. And that feels really, really good that I can start the process of, like, okay. Let's rebuild."
Addressing the rumors and misconceptions about her divorce, Lindsay mentioned the hurtful stereotypes and narratives spread by her ex and the media. She firmly rebutted the idea that she prioritized her career over her marriage or having children.
"There are certain things that were said to play into the stereotype of me being a career woman ... and it was really hard to see people run with that narrative," she lamented.
Lindsay now finds herself re-evaluating her views on marriage and does not foresee tying the knot again without a prenuptial agreement. "It's, like, changed my whole perspective on everything. I don't even know if I would get married again. I can't even fathom that," she admitted.
Financial adjustments have also altered her life plans, making her reconsider certain aspirations. "Financially, things are so different for me now," she said. "Things that I wanted to do, wanna be able to do, I really can't," she lamented. "And I think you know what I'm alluding to when it comes to that."
As she moves forward, she is focusing on what truly matters - her peace of mind.
