An unfortunate turn for a childhood hero: Hector David Jr., known for playing the Green Power Ranger, has been sentenced to prison following an altercation with an elderly man.

AceShowbiz - Hector David Jr., best known for portraying the Green Power Ranger in the franchise from 2011 to 2015, will now have to spend several weeks behind bars. The 35-year-old actor was sentenced to 180 days in prison for a horrendous attack on an elderly man who was using a walker.
However, Judge Matthew B. Schelstrate of Canyon County Court suspended 135 days of the sentence, meaning David Jr. will only serve 45 days if he stays out of trouble afterward.
In July 2024, an altercation over a parking issue between the actor and the elderly man led to a violent encounter that was caught on camera by a bystander.
The footage showed David Jr., donning a New England Patriots jersey and baggy red pants, shoving the elderly man to the ground in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Nampa, Idaho. Afterwards, the actor drove away in his truck, leaving the victim on the ground. Fortunately, the elderly man was not seriously injured.
The unsettling incident was initially a mystery to the authorities until the Nampa Police Department posted the video online. The social media response was swift, with the community identifying David Jr. as the assailant.
Nampa police officer Erick Moore commented, "Our community not only supports us but they support us going after people that commit crimes. They really stepped up and were able to help us get this identity pretty quick."
In addition to the 45-day jail term, David Jr. has been sentenced to two years of supervised probation and is required to complete 100 hours of community service. These penalties serve as a stern reminder of the consequences of violent behavior, even among those who once played beloved superheroes.
This incident put a dent in David Jr.'s acting career, which began with a role in "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" before joining the "Power Rangers" series. Most recently, he appeared in the 2024 Netflix film "The Merry Gentleman" starring Chad Michael Murray and Britt Robertson.
