AceShowbiz - Lily Allen has candidly opened up about her fragile state of mind amid her split from husband David Harbour. During a heartfelt episode of her podcast, "Miss Me?", which she co-hosts with Miquita Oliver, she stumbled over the word "husband" while talking about the "Stranger Things" actor, whom she married in 2020.
Talking about enduring a particularly tough period in her life, Allen admitted she's in a dark place. The 39-year-old singer detailed her struggles, "I'm finding it hard to be interested in anything, I'm really not in a good place. I know I've been talking about it for months but I've been spiralling and spiralling."
Allen detailed her experience with anxiety and panic attacks, recounting incidents such as having to leave a Christmas lunch early and abruptly exiting a theater performance before it's done. She confessed, "I can't concentrate on anything except the pain I'm going through. It's really hard."
Despite her personal turmoil, Allen highlighted the support she has received from her two daughters, Ethel (13) and Marnie (11), whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper. "I can say, it's really tough - they are always there, and you have to be present and there for them," she noted.
She announced a hiatus from the podcast to focus on her mental wellbeing while shutting down speculation of a possible relapse into drug addiction, "I'm going away next week for a few weeks, but I do want to reassure people because there will be speculation that I'm going to drug rehab - I've not, I've not relapsed."
It's been reported that Allen reportedly turned detective to discover whether Harbour had been unfaithful. By rejoining the celebrity dating app Raya, where they initially met, Allen discovered that Harbour had an active profile for over a month, leading to their split.
Besides taking a break from her podcast, Allen has seemingly stepped away from OnlyFans as well. Despite once boasting about earning more from photos of her feet than from her Spotify streams, she hasn't been active on the platform for several months.
Before their separation, Allen hinted at issue in bedroom. In the same podcast, she openly talked about refusing his requests, "He quite often asks for things, and I'm like: 'No, babe, it's not happening.' "
Lily Allen and David Harbour's connection started off casual before it turned exclusive and then culminated in their shotgun wedding in Las Vegas. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he said he decided to marry Allen after overhearing a conversation between her children.
Their exchange apparently tugged at his heart as the kids were debating whether or not he's their dad - with the younger one confusing his name "David" with the word "dad" and the older one correcting her younger sibling by calling him "just some guy in our lives."
