AceShowbiz - New York rapper Ice Spice has apologized for her controversial appearance at the Wildlands Festival in Brisbane, Australia. Initially scheduled to perform at 10:30 P.M. on December 31, Ice Spice arrived roughly 30 minutes late, prompting organizers to cut off her microphone during her third song.
The incident drew outrage from fans, sparking calls for her to be dropped from her next sets and prompting an apology from the festival, which cited a strict curfew.
Ice Spice remained silent until her performance at the Perth leg of the festival on January 4. During her set, she dished on the reason why she was late and asked for forgiveness, "I'm sorry guys, surely y'all can forgive me. It was my birthday and it takes a long time to look like a Barbie." She then performed her Nicki Minaj collaboration, "Barbie World."
Ice Spice turned 25 years old on January 1, but kicked off her birthday celebration early. Before her tardiness at NYE show, she shared hints on Instagram at how she would mark her big day.
The femcee concluded her current touring schedule with a performance in Adelaide on January 5, closing out the promotion for her debut album, "Y2K". The record received positive reviews and charted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 and No. 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
