AceShowbiz - Paul "PK" Kemsley has expressed his disappointment and sadness over his estranged wife Dorit Kemsley's portrayal of their separation on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills".
In Season 14 of the reality show, Dorit claimed that PK's "full-blown" alcoholism led to their split. However, PK, who has been sober for nearly a year, has denounced these remarks.
PK has admitted that his alcoholism "had an element of responsibility" in the breakdown of their marriage, but it was only one component. He believes that alcoholism is a symptom of underlying issues, and that it's important to address the cause rather than blaming it solely on alcohol abuse.
PK has also refuted Dorit's claims that she supported him through financial difficulties and DUIs, stating that these issues were "well before" they met and that he has since recovered from them.
Despite his disappointment, PK insists that he is not angry with Dorit. However, he is saddened to see her "talking negatively about [him]" on television, especially since they were once considered one of the closest couples in the group.
PK is proud of his recovery and believes that it is a "full-blown" journey. He hopes to inspire others who may be struggling with addiction and emphasizes that there is no such thing as a "fully-blown alcoholic."
According to PK, Dorit's lack of understanding of sobriety stems from her own lack of experience with the disease. He believes that her statements are not her fault, but he is nonetheless disappointed that she has portrayed their separation in this way.
